Since 2007, the Lango Baya Mission has been working with orphans, widows and their caregiver families in the rural villages in eastern Kenya. Lango Baya Mission is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization who believes education is the most important element for improvement in the lives of the poor. Only Primary School is free in Kenya. To attend Secondary School, children must pay fees. Orphans in the rural villages are not able to pay school fees, so they drop out. The greater part of our work is ensuring the children continue to advance in their education. Most of the orphans live with their grandparents, aunts or uncles or a widowed mother. We are presently assisting over 200 orphans, but there are more who need our assistance.
